The general scope of this project was a small addition to facilitate a much needed upgrade to the kitchen. The expanded kitchen accommodates a brilliant blue island which contrasts with the white cabinets around the perimeter. Cambria quartz was used for the island, perimeter countertops, and the entire backsplash. A new built-in refrigerator location improves the traffic flow while the original window placement above the sink was maintained. Glass cabinets were added on either side of the vent hood to create a feature. New 12” x 24” grey floor tile creates a backdrop for the blue and white cabinets. A custom spice rack was added to the pantry cabinet. The homeowners use the back entry frequently, so we added hooks and a built-in bench with custom cushion. Heading outside, the sidewalk and backyard patio were enhanced. In the living room, the fireplace trim was reworked to accommodate the accent tile and the new craftsman style fireplace insert. Field tile and accent tile from Motawi Tile create a symmetrical design.
