My fellow Swedish friend (did you notice the cinnamon buns in the picture) who is lucky enough to live here wanted to create a large open space where her family can gather. She and her husband often have people over, so having an open kitchen really allows for her guests to wander around and mingle while the food is being prepared.

The island with its stained walnut countertop is really the focus of the room, especially with the amazing Tom Dixon pendant lights hanging above. The island houses a prep sink, pot drawers and an open shelf to display all the cookbooks.
