One of my favourite projects from 2016 was the one of my friend. She knew right away what it was that she wanted and having a two tone kitchen was one of them.

The new kitchen is located at the back of the family house, facing their backyard. My client wasn't looking at opening up the space to the rest of the floor which was great since that allowed us more walls to add cabinetry and storage. The island was left as a prepping surface without a sink, it's supported by four legs instead of an enclosed kick space and therefore reads more as furniture than cabinetry.

The fridge and pantry wall is framed out with walls, adding that 'furniture' feel again. The reclaimed wood shelves and custom made wrought iron brackets ads a touch of warmth into this kitchen and also frames and balance out the chimney style hood nicely.
