Del Sur Modern Elegance

Several key elements were essential to this project, but none as important as the potential screening of the neighbors homes that loom in all directions. The homeowners wanted a covered patio, a spa and wading pool, a grass area for kids to play, a BBQ entertainment area and a large area for a dog run. It was a fun project to work on.

The Spa has a vanishing edge and tiles with a beautiful pattern in subdued colors. We mirrored the planting with similar soft jewel-like hues.

One of the key elements of this design was the privacy the couple was hoping to achieve with plantings. I used many large, evergreen shrubs that should give complete privacy within a couple of years.

Grass area is irrigated with subsurface drip irrigation. The concrete surround is meant as a path for tricycles.

This is the back of the pool slope. It has large shrubs and trees that should provide some shade and privacy in a few years.

View from inside the house of the entertaining area. The shade panels are retractable and are on channels so they slide very easily. They were installed by "Shadetree Canopies"

We used reclaimed wood on the wall and for the cabinet doors in the Built-In BBQ.
