Does that mustard yellow lamp work with the mauve paint? What about those rare, vintage chairs with the lucite feet found in Rome: they’re comfortable, but are they too boxy? And that neon orange “bullet” from Marfa – it’s certainly nothing a client would like, but wait, would they? The design lab might (currently) have a "Pizza Hut" tile floor in the kitchen and rubber baseboards falling off in the bathroom walls, but with high ceilings and great light, where better than a designer’s own home to follow curiosities and test ideas.
