When my client first approached me he stated that his entire kitchen was dull, outdated, lacked color and was just plan drab. It had old dingy oak cabinets that were worn down and white ceramic tile everywhere. It was definitely a kitchen that needed some major updating!

The perimeter layout could not be changed too much, but the space had the potential to change the shape of the island to make it more functional and usable for my client. We decided to go with a one level island to make the space feel bigger, inviting and cohesive with the great room area. Once the old built-in pantry, oak cabinets and white tile were removed and replaced with warm natural cherry cabinets and dark porcelain slate tile floors created the warmth that this kitchen really needed. Incorporating Cambria Quartz counter tops and a lighter gray tile back splash with bright blue accents completed this kitchen’s transformation from “Drab to Fab”.
