Dream Ensuite

Winner of WRHBA S.A.M award for Most Outstanding Bathroom (up to 2500sqft) 2019.

Our clients dreamed of an ensuite escape; a place to relax and unwind after a busy day of juggling work and family. The mission was clear—prioritize clean, bright lines, and maximize the use of the space. We ditched the old pre-fab shower and bulky, unused jacuzzi tub, for a simple, yet elegant wet room. We worked closely with our clients to incorporate high-end, luxurious features such as: in floor heating, quartz surfaces and a relaxing rain-shower. By eliminating an awkward corner, we were able to claim underused space from the bedroom, this allowed us to extend the wet room to run the full length of the bathroom. By doing so, we were successful in allowing for longer sight lines, giving the overall feeling of an expansive space. Designing a floating quartz bench, which matches the other solid surfaces, presented some challenges, but was critical to the overall design.

The floating white oak vanity adds depth and a modern focal point, without taking away from the crisp white and black that dominates the room. Our clients envisioned a seamless look for their large wet room; while it was not possible to complete the shower in one pane of glass, we overcame this challenge by framing the floor to ceiling glass in a black border to create the look they wanted. The extra long shower niche adds further visual length to the wet room. The stunning matte arctic white tile selected for the shower wall was purposefully planned to add the elusion of height to wet room.

In addition to being beautiful and unique, this space is equally practical, providing his and hers sinks and ample storage space for life’s necessities. The uniqueness of this bathroom cannot be understated. This is the bathroom of everyone’s dreams, and we were privileged to work with such innovative clients and designer.
