Our room was the living room. There were 2 challenges for this room. The first was that it was a pass-thru room. To get to any room in the house (except the dining room) you had to go thru the living room. Traffic flow was important in the furniture layout. There were no true walls so all of the furniture had to float. The other challenge was the bookcases on either side of the fireplace. We did not want to fill them with "things" so we had custom woven panels made, which we installed inside the cases, and hung art on the center stile, which we thought was much more interesting.
