Druid Hills Mid Century Modern
When the homeowners purchased this 1950’s home in historic Druid Hills, it had already undergone numerous disjointed renovations. The cramped, dark kitchen was isolated from the rest of the home and in need of an update. As part of this project, the homeowners also wanted to create a new light-filled entrance while adding a dramatic staircase to better connect the ground level and 1st floor.
Renewal Design-Build collaborated with the homeowners to create a mid-century modern inspired kitchen with plenty of room to gather, cook and socialize. The kitchen was enlarged to accommodate an island and additional work space by relocating the laundry room and removing walls. The kitchen is now open to the adjoining living spaces and directly connected to the home’s unique central courtyard. The sleek slab cabinets complement the bright white Silestone countertops and bold glass tile backsplash.
