The home owners' typical Vancouver front yard was decimated by chafer beetles and wanted to completely replace the turf. Their Red Dragon Japanese Maple was the only plant that they were attached to, so a "Japan-esque" aesthetic was suggested. Their only other request was that we create some grading on this totally flat site. I'd landscaped a sister's property which was on a slope, and they loved the effect.
