Estate Clearing - Tight Timeline
This beautiful property near Erin, ON had been sold and needed to be cleared out in two weeks. The family had already decluttered prior to the sale, but a considerable amount of work remained. Once the client indicated which items would be claimed by various family members, the Home in Transition team brought in appraisers and set to work sorting and removing the remaining items.
As always, our goal was to send as little as possible to landfill. In this case, many of the unclaimed items were left for the new owners (as arranged between seller and buyer), some were sent to auction and the remainder went to local charity shops and drop offs. Sensitive documents were sent to a shredding facility.
The job proceeded quickly and smoothly, thanks in large part to the huge role played by the client in facilitating the dispersal of items and organizing the movers.
Our role is to be flexible and fill in the gaps between what is needed and what the client is able to look after - this job felt like a true collaboration with the client and was executed in record time as a result.
