This kitchen was part of a whole-house remodel that converted an uninspired and awkward ranch home into a charming two-story Colonial. By raising the ceilings and eliminating the wall between the kitchen and family room, the design solution significantly brightened up the kitchen, improved its efficiency and livability, and more than doubled its storage. The new space includes traditional details while incorporating fresh, innovative touches such as the raised butcher block element in the island.
