This beautiful Forth Worth home possesses this incredible open-concept kitchen with recessed living room. The ceiling beams are authentic, reclaimed timbers with tons of character, but were stained so dark that they dominated the rooms visually. Designer Lisa Luby Ryan wanted to enhance the character of the timbers by adding a gray patina, while simultaneously toning them down so that they complement all the other elements in the room. The faux finish actually enhances the character and detail of the beams that had been previously hidden by the dark stain.
