Tilson Group provided professional landscape architectural design services for this 1500 square foot postage stamp garden located in the heart of the historic Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, D.C. Skill and agility were required to navigate this controversial project through the stringent design review and approval process in Georgetown. Our design focus was to create a simple, serene garden that was complementary to the historic nature of Georgetown. Contained within the new brick screen walls is a bluestone patio, a lawn panel, and a small pool and fountain. Four large Bradford Pear trees were placed at the four corners of the garden to provide shade and give the garden an instant established appearance and ambiance to the surrounding neighborhood. Keen attention to detail and plant choice created an exquisite outdoor garden room for a perfect complement to the Georgian style residence.
