This project, located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. The homeowners had seen some planetrees (Platanus x acerifolia) in Europe that had been pruned into a roof top application so as to create flat topped shade. Unfortunately, the only access to the backyard was through the front door of the house. So rather than create the specialty pruned trees here in our fields, we took the trees (in-tact) to the project. As the new, wood (imported fir) floors had recently been installed, we had to carry the trees through the front door, through the house and out the back door where we created the roof top trees on site.
