Glass Tile | Roxbury
Situated on a New England hilltop, this glass tile-encrusted pool and spa duo was designed to yield a strong sense of visual balance.
Its design was inspired by the size and proportions of the neighboring tennis court, and links the watershapes' features to the lines established on the paved surface one level above. To articulate the connection, the pool's top steps are aligned with the steps leading down from the court, tying the two levels together whether you're looking up from the pool deck or down from the court.
Both pool and spa feature a knife-edge slot, perimeter overflow design, utilizing custom cut black absolute granite. The spa features oversized thermal shelves for lounging and sunbathing. A custom blue mosaic blend of 3/4" Italian glass tile was applied to all surfaces of the watershapes.
Sheltered from the breezes, the pool and spa stand a quarter-inch above the deck surface, giving them a glass, reflective, jewel-like appearance.
