Goddard Place
This 5,500-square-foot whole-home remodel in Boulder was driven by the clients’ desire to modernize their home while enhancing indoor-outdoor living and creating an ideal space for entertaining. The project included all-new interior and exterior finishes, new windows, upgraded mechanical systems, and a complete rethinking of the home's layout. One of the major transformations involved relocating the kitchen to the back of the house, opening the home to the stunning Flatiron views with a massive retractable door and an indoor-outdoor kitchen bar top that blurs the boundary between inside and out.
Key design challenges included significant structural changes to the main floor and strategic space planning to support an open yet functional layout. The team overcame these hurdles through careful collaboration and design solutions that balanced form and function.
Notable design features include a continuous CVG fir ceiling, extensive wood detailing throughout, and steel elements that were either exposed or wrapped in white oak to add warmth. Custom lighting and thoughtful materials lend a rich tactile quality throughout the home.
