H Residential

The form of the house reflects the need to create privacy on a corner lot. At the center is a completely private glass-walled courtyard that can be viewed from all the major rooms. At night, with views across the courtyard, the house glows like a lantern.

The family is very musical and loves to read so the conventional living room is replaced by a music room and a library. These rooms can be used separately or combined by opening large sliding doors. Limestone clad fireplaces bookend these spaces. Vaulted ceilings topped by skylights wash them with natural light.

The Hymes/Kon Residence is featured in the book NASHVILLE BY DESIGN.
