This Gilroy couple loves to entertain with friends and family, but their kitchen's large peninsula and wasted in-between prep space made for awkward moments. KDS designed a unique solution with double islands where 2 people could comfortably prepare food; entertain with ease; and have a good flow of traffic. The homeowners wanted a fresh, transitional look and chose white-painted custom cabinetry by Columbia Cabinets for the perimeter topped by a beautiful quartize, Terra Bianca. For a punchy accent, KDS partnered with the homeowners and selected a darker island topped with Cambria quartz, Laneshaw. To harmonize the living spaces, the bar and fireplace mantle were done in the same dark wood and quartz. Finishing and polishing touches were added with a grey glass back splash; warm grey paint; and Le Grand light switches.
