This house dates from the mid 19th century and overlooks the public green. We were asked to design a large addition that responded to the house’s character. We chose to set the addition back from the house to give emphasis to the original structure. Original roof lines, window heights and trim details are used again in the addition to present a unified face to the public park. The carriage house is set back again, and is reduced in both scale and detail.
