This is a charming home with so much character. All improvements to the home were done with meticulous care and skill. I worked with the homeowner on all the decorating, so when it came to home staging, just some refinement was all that was needed. The house sold within a week!

This home was a drab grey. What a difference color can make! We were glad we had this painted long before a decision was made to sell and move into a mid-century home.

So much character, but lots of updating took place in this home over the years. New mantle and surround, downlights, lots of paint and stripping of the floors to their original beauty made this a wonderful home for raising a family.

We had a decorative painter put a striated finish on the diving room walls. The trestle table was the client's grandmother's, and the chairs were found in a midcentury originals shop.

The kitchen was small, to be sure, but every inch of space was functional and beautiful. We inexpensively remodeled this kitchen using Ikea cabinets, saving more of the budget for granite counters, tile floor and subway backsplash.

The upstairs bathroom was completely remodeled while maintaining its character appeal. My favorite part was the herringbone mosaic tile we chose for the floor.

The Master bedroom, while small, had great graphic appeal, particularly since we had the trim on the windows painted black.

The tonal values together on major surfaces did not create strong contrast here in the stairwell, thus giving an ethereal atmosphere to the space.

The third bedroom was used as a pretty office.

The basement was ugly, cold and damp before the remodel. A bathroom was added, a sitting area and bedroom. It became the family's guest suite. For home staging we bought bedding at West Elm, and it was complete.

The sitting area was fresh and inviting with lots of good ceiling downlights that helped dispel the look of a basement. Also, the ceiling was drywalled which made it feel less basement-y.

The basement bathroom was very appealing with great lighting, good storage and attractive Kate Spade shower curtain and towels.
