Window Treatments

Custom window treatments are a wonderful way of getting exactly what works in the space. Sometimes the main event, sometimes a supporting role, custom window treatments are often what make the space feel complete.

Here we have an example of an updated traditional style. Period pieces do not have to match, a hearty mix of dressiness, rusticity and sparkle coexist beautifully and make the room less formal.

We wanted the dining room to have more character, so I sketched the idea for built ins flanking the window. We added crown molding and a window seat which is topped off with soapstone for durability and beauty. The window treatment echoes the curves of the chairs and adds softness to the room.

Here we see the beauty of a quiet color scheme...serene. Even though the wallpaper is Rococo style, due to its softer colors it is not overly busy for this client. The silk panels with relaxed goblet pleats are a fitting header for the formal dining room.

Adjoining the dining room is the music/living room. We kept the color scheme cool and serene. Stripes go so well with other patterns, and black and white fabrics are fairly timeless. Here we pulled back the panels with beautiful holdbacks to add extra curve that repeats the curves found elsewhere...

This Client's dining room is a jewel box of a room. Extra long sheers drape in a relaxed manner, just breaking on the floor. European antique chandelier dresses up the space.
