Homeless Project - LaPlata

This was the second house I was asked to decorate. Through donations I was able to furnish every room. This home was for a mother with 8 children.
This house was left in horrible condition by the previous tenants. The house required a good cleaning and an awful lot of TLC. With the help of a group of volunteers, we were able to turn this house into a home.

the fireplace was painted, the end chairs I sprayed a bright blue and I recovered the seats..not enough fabric for the backs but they seamed to work out ok...

Painting the fireplace was a huge improvement. We added the donated picture which served as two purposes, it covered the hole in the brick where a pipe was and it brightened the room

This room was for two little girls, the room was decorated with toys, posters and lots of girly things.

This is mom's room, which is across the hall from the two little boy's room. The donated trundle bed was perfect for this room, the donated rocker not only looked great in the room but will get plenty of use rocking the little ones to sleep. The picture above the rocker was the icing on the cake.

The exterior, still a little rugged is a big improvement from the way it looked before it was power washed, the door painted red, adding a flower bed lining the sidewalk, potted flowers by the door and curtains inside.

this is the basement club room....it sits outside the older girls bedrooms and is a nice hangout spot for them.

The deck was power washed and this very nice donated patio set gives the family a relaxing outdoor retreat.
