This master bedroom make-over was created with great finds. The chair was picked up at a salvation army and reupholstered along with the foot stole which I bought at a goodwill. The desk I also found at the goodwill and painted it black except for the top, I sanded and polyurethaned it. The cedar chest was passed down from a great grandmother, sanded and painted to match the Williamsburg blue walls. The lamp was a mauve with a huge flower on it, brought it home and sprayed it gold and added the black shade. The picture over the bed was a yard sale find. The wall collage is a combination of yard sale finds and cherished pictures. The dresser was a yard sale find. I painted it a light grey and added mirrors to the drawers and outlined with a thin molding. To accent the drawers I took x-large tacks, cut off the points, painted them silver and glued them to the glass. The mirror is difficult to work with and will crack if the holes are not drilled carefully. An alternative is a local mirror/glass company, we have a local company that will cut and glue your glass for half the cost of buying a piece already mirrored.
