This powder room was originally wallpapered and ready for a makeover. I removed the wallpaper and looked for a wallpaper with a black and white print but the cost of wallpaper, even for a room this small, is very costly. The other option is a stencil. Unable to find a stencil to create the look I wanted, I had to buy three stencils and with a few snips, I was able to create that look. Stenciling is time consuming and not as easy as it looks but a fraction of the cost of wallpaper. A line level is not an option, it is a must, you will need to use one to keep the pattern straight. The mirror was a yard sale find for $10.00. By painting it white it had just the impact I needed. The light fixture was originally hanging with the bulbs down and had globes. By removing the globes and loosening the fixture I was able to turn the fixture with the bulbs facing up and I added shades. This gave me the perfect light fixture for $20. On the back wall I added a black and white framed print . The total makeover was less then $100.
