A contemporary "kiva" design, the soaring great room is one level below grade to keep cool in a desert clime. Lightly mortar-washed masonry walls give an adobe-feeling texture of hand labor augmented by dark brick floors throughout. Featured on HG-TV and awarded an AIA design honor by nationally known jury chair, Ralph Rapson, FAIA, this is a simple, timeless architectural southwestern expression.
