Sonoma Vineyard Estate

The client's desire for a 3 generational family house was wisely converted by the architect into a Manorial main house with two charming cottages to create a "village" within this Sonoma vineyard. Construction traditions of northern California were celebrated in sand-blasted cedar formboards to humanize concrete chimneys that seismically stabilize the structures. Roughsawn wood textures that are whitewashed allow natural daylighting and enliven the interiors. Architecture, landscape architecture, and interiors by nationally prominent American architect, James Logan Abell, FAIA.
