Jack in the Box
Starting as a 1008 s.f. single-story home, the young couple needed more space for themselves and their 5 children. After initially approaching the project as a remodel, ultimately the house was demolished and rebuilt as a 2500 s.f. craftsman two-story. The open plan of the first floor centralizes the kitchen, providing views into the back yard, dining room, and living areas. The kids can all retreat to their separate corners of the shared space while still safely within reach of Mom. Every inch of the house is neatly designed with built-in furniture and storage, creating seating zones within the larger space.
