The homeowner and Rehab Kitchen and Bath, worked together to freshening up this builder grade home in Carlsbad. The existing cabinetry was in great shape, but the kitchen felt dark and gloomy and more traditional then the homeowners style. By replacing the countertops with Aargon by Cambria, removing two upper cabinets cabinets and replacing with opening shelving, tiling Suprema 2x8 ceramic tiles and redoing all the pendant lighting in the kitchen, we created a clean lined, classic look, in an otherwise dreary kitchen. The large live edge slab of Sugar Gum Eucalyptus is the main focal point! By butting 3 slabs of this beautiful tree together we created an interesting piece that demands to be the center of attention. We also removed the traditional builder style post from the island and replaced them with steel post that were custom powder coasted along with the custom, opening shelving metal brackets. At the end of the day, all the small details in this kitchen made a rather large impact!
