Lake San Marcos Kitchen

This transitional kitchen utilized elements from a industrial era, but by combining leathered countertops and a craftmans door it pays a graceful homage to several styles, all the while standing out on its own - making a statement that is truly unique.

A galley layout with too many access routes, left this large kitchen feeling too open and no counter space. By deleting the "too many" doorways into the kitchen, we eliminated wasted space and by closing some areas off and opening up others we created an inviting space that not only pleases the eye but begs to be cooked in. By relocating the 36" range, the kitchen began to take a direction. We removed unusable space in a too open pantry and replaced it with a Tall pantry cabinet with roll outs that allowed the whole cabinet to be utilized. In this well cooked in, kitchen we needed to combine function and elegant style.

The sleek, clean lines keep the kitchen elegantly functional, but interesting features like the natural quartzite leathered Nuage countertops adds depth and warmth to the kitchen. Guest can gather around the peninsula, leaving the kitchen for the cook.

For the bar we upgraded the cabinetry using the same Craftsman Java Shaker cabinet and countertops, as the kitchen. With just small touches of glass, the bar is a classy invite for a class of wine or a sip of bourbon.
