Key Biscayne Apartment

Our clients, a young English Mexican couple with two small children, bought this property as a vacation home in Key Biscayne, Florida. They wanted a complete renovation of the space as they were looking for a beach themed, open space full of light, that featured an airy palette of colors and natural materials. The overall design concept was to create a modern bohemian atmosphere.

A special kind of marble resembling a light-toned wood was chosen for the home's floors in order to give a more informal touch and a sand-like texture. For the kitchen, all the walls were removed to be able to fully integrate the area with the rest of the space. Furthermore, a bar counter was built between the kitchen and the dining room area. This layout invites guests to remain in the same environment to socialize with the owners while cooking. As the kitchen space lacked natural light, we stayed away from dark color tones and went for white oak hardwood combined with a palette of white and grays for the entire space.
