We started by adding 16'x22' addition to the back of their home and by removing a structural wall between the living room and back deck. Then installing a structural wrapped cedar beam. Replacing all the flooring with new hardwoods on this level. Along with the kitchen we added a large walk-in pantry and half bath. The island was made big enough to seat four with a beverage refrigerator in the island. The old kitchen was removed and made into a play room for the young ones and a large picture window over the kitchen sink looks onto a fenced back yard. A side door was added along with a deck for grilling. Goose neck lamps were installed in the new cedar beam over a pre-planned eating table and the fireplace in the great room was refaced to brick. This was an exciting project for all of us!
