Kitchen expansion in North Wayland

The clients' house, originally a 1950's cape, has been through several additions. While adding on, the kitchen had a choppy layout and was very dark. The client wanted to remove a panty and shift walls to create more usable kitchen work space and storage, better traffic patterns and allow more natural light to flow.

The L-shaped counter and double ovens are where the pantry used to be. The removal of those walls allows the natural skylight to flow into the room. The white ceramic tile backplash ties the older kitchen section together.

We installed a swivel task light above the stove. It's a soft light that highlights the decorative tile, yet is suble and functional.
