Every new space needs a starting point, something to kick-start the creative process and define the direction of the room. In this vacation home, inspiration was twofold: the stunning lake views from every room, and the wonderful family that would be relaxing in it. They told us they wanted a bright, colorful, happy place with no obstructions to the view, plenty of kid friendly spaces, and space set aside for Mom and Dad too.

Pictured here is the great room, where we used beach glass colors, amped up to meet the homeowners' requests for “more color”. The deep navy and the fresh green contrast beautifully and the colors are the perfect transition to the view outside the window, where bright blues of lake and sky are layered with bright, spring green dune grasses. Indoor/Outdoor fabrics were used throughout the space, as their active lifestyle includes kids, dogs, sun, sand and water and little time for stain scrubbing. The end result is a casual, comfortable, low maintenance home that matches the energy of it's busy family.
