Larchmont

A 1910 farm house, that had lost its original details and character to multiple "renovations". The entire house was gutted and the interior space reconfigured to connect the original part of the house with an addition done in the 80's. Flow was improved, and storage space was added to accommodate a family of 6.

Renovate and rebuild entire houses with new amenities and wrap around porch - -New shingles replaced vinyl siding and the porch was brought back to its previous grandeur. Even though we only increased the length of the front porch to wrap around, the house maintained is original foot print.

The before picture shows very little resemblance to the final house after renovation. The entry is small, feels cramped and unwelcoming.

A traditional kitchen with a large island and dining section, open and airy. We were invited back to redesign the kitchen after working with the client on a previous renovation project.

The kitchen is connected to the family room and separated by a row of structural columns, with a built-in book case for the kids on the end of the island.

A passage to the dining room became a small gem for a pair of refrigerator drawers to serve as a bar or a small butler's pantry.

The kitchen was opened up to the family room during the first renovation, but was not renovated until 2013. Floors and cabinets and genereal lay-out was revised.

A Pensylvania Dutch antique vanity fit perfectly in the powder room with a few modifications done by KGHome Construction.

We created connectivity to the back addition by removing a chimney that was no longer in use. The French doors lead into the separate formal dining room and library.

The before of the combined dining room and library. The room was never used since it served more as a coridor to get from the front of the house to the back media and family room.

A small living room that previously had been a pass through from the back addition to the front of the house was turned into a gem of a dining room and library combined.

The renovated and transformed former living room turned into a cozy and formal dining room with an antique stained glass wind and built-in break front.

The other end of a small formal dining room became a quiet reading and music room. Being only nine feet wide the room was efficiently laid out with built-in book cases on thee sides and small-scale furniture that was still very comfortable to sink in to.
