Lazy Heart Ranch
The Fisherman’s Dream:
Years ago in the “Big City” we used to dream about a life in Montana, and building homes not far from the world’s best fly fishing waters. Two very fun and special folks also shared that dream—and fishing obsession—so they hired Dovetail to rebuild their old ranch house near the Yellowstone River into a stunning contemporary version of the original property, complete with a custom rod and boat barn and a few world-record fish mounts to adorn the walls. ‘Nano' doors bring Livingston’s Paradise Valley right into the reclaimed timbered great room. The spacious steel deck sits above Montana moss rocks, and overlooks a small creek below. Wide plank flooring and repurposed barn boards fit very well with the modern steel, edgy stone tile, and custom concrete details. These folks say they found a great builder, but we know we all found great fishing friends.
