Single Family Design Competition Winner for a 3,200 sq/ft, two story sustainable private residence. Residence includes rainwater harvesting, solar panels, geothermal, green roof and maximizing daily solar exposure through the orientation of the house on the site. Two large concrete walls on either side of the house provide thermal mass to help reduce temperature fluctuations known as "thermal flywheel affect" during extreme hot and cold weather cycles. The residence is designed around the LEED for Homes sustainability guidelines.
