Loft Design

This loft takes on an industrial look with its exposed ceiling, materials and furniture selections. The loft includes a kitchen, dining/living area, staircase, walk-in closet, bathroom and bedroom designed by Yorkville Design Centre.

This previously boring loft was given an awesome industrial makeover by our designers. Even the cat likes the new look!

This floating ceiling makes the room look like a kitchen from the inside, and helps add to the industrial look from the outside. It also supports our client's sculpture.

One of the coolest features of this design is the sliding barn door, blending in with the cabinets and the spiral ductwork.

The cabinets in this kitchen are wire-brushed, steel blue, stained oak. The island has a honed marble countertop, while stainless steel is the sink's surface. Wouldn't you say they all go well together?

The windows wrap around three sides of this room, illuminating it with brilliant daylight. Outdoors seems closer than ever; our client can't wait to get out on his bike.

Faux wood cabinets and floors give a functionality to the bathroom, without completely distancing it from the rest of the house. A structural beam is actually highlighted, completing the industrial look.

Inside the bathroom, blue was added to the canvas, alluding to Polynesian beaches in summer. Transparent curtains that frost the windows are a nice touch, giving the bathroom privacy while still showing a full view.

Closets don't need to have doors. With smart placing of the entrance and beautiful drawers, the closet is a thing of beauty.

Shoes, suits, jackets--there is ample space for everything. Each has its place in a different doorless cabinet, an organized design in any walk-in closet. A barnboard back is perfect for this room.
