MODERN, CONTEMPORARY AND HAPPY, ECLECTIC MULTIPLE SPACES

This multiple residential spaces design successfully captures the clients’, a multi-generational family of an elderly couple and their adult daughter’s, desire for a happy, warm, bold, and eclectic style with an artful and nuanced blend of modern, traditional and contemporary elements. The clients also wanted the design to be colorful, glamorous and elegant, yet casual and comfortable, in addition to showcasing the family’s collection of colorful sculptures, abstract wall art and European paintings. Sustainable low VOC paint with subtle hues of glossy and metallic butterscotch yellow are contrasted against simple, custom mini-cornices and ruby red draperies. An energy efficient modern ceiling fan, Swarovski crystal chandeliers, and contemporary bronze link floor lamps were incorporated for a glamourous touch. Due to the family’s mobility and disability issues, universal design elements such as higher seating height, a rolling coffee table on casters, and plantation shutters were installed. The warm, yet bold color palette accented with bronze, nickel, and gold finishes, and Swarovski crystal, complement the comfortable leather club chairs, the Louis XV sofa, and contemporary dining set, all creating a cohesive and harmonious flow of the living room, formal dining room and foyer.
