Making the Invisible Visible
We are generally unaware of how much trash we produce - it is “invisible” to us. We also tend to treat people experiencing homelessness as “invisibles.” By addressing both of these issues and making the invisible visible, we can make improvements in both areas. This building is a homeless resource center where those experiencing homelessness can bring recyclable materials, such as glass bottles, in exchange for classes that can help these people in need gain skills, apply for jobs, and progress out of homelessness. The walls of the building are themselves built out of packed clay and recycled glass, similar to the construction form used in Long Way Home schools.
