Marco Island Remodel

The 1900 square foot home had great bones and a beautiful water view. But, being built in 1998, the home was out of style and had no design appeal. We went to work gutting it, moving and removing walls, and updated the home with a light and airy Florida style.

The kitchen had no focal point. The oven range was off center, the cabinets were short, and there was no appeal. To create a focal point we centered the oven range with a custom hood and added a tile feature.

The large space to the left of the toilet was a bit odd. It made the space feel empty with a tiny low vanity and toilet. We gutted it and added new cabinetry to fill the space plus it gives more storage which is much needed in any Florida home.

A lot of green in this room! I painted the entire house in Benjamin Moore Ballet White. It really brightened up the whole house. The greens and yellows in this particular home actually made the spaces feel darker. I brought color in through accessories and artwork.

This is the master bedroom before. Wow, just removing this massive platform/mirrored wall unit thingy helped tremendously. Also, the yellow on the walls was not the right color in this house. We painted and removed the old carpet.

The bathroom was yellow which made it feel dark. The cabinets were low and dated and the tile had a pink cast to it. Everything was gutted.

This shelf was a catch-all for any household items. We simply painted, replaced the flooring, and added baskets to keep things like laundry detergent neatly organized.
