Meditation Pavilion

This pavilion is intended as a respite, a place to sit quietly in the nature and observe the surrounding beauty. One approaches along a woodland path or a shoreline trail. Composed of a curved brick wall, a wood-framed roof and a platform suspended above the water, it has a primal relationship to the landscape. A Rumford fireplace marks the center of the pavilion and a bench wraps the other three sides. Down filled pillows are scattered along the bench. A Shaker table is set in the center. The aromatic cedar provides warmth and the scent of connection to Source. This building provides a sensorial experience that lifts the spirit and transcends the mundane, resulting is a sense of stillness that is at once poetic and exhilarating.
