This kitchen had contemporary maple cabinets and an island in the middle of the kitchen with the cooktop which impeded the flow and functionality. The island was removed and the professional grade range and hood were moved to the wall which greatly opened up the space and improved the flow and functionality. Cabinets were replaced with period appropriate mission style oak which matched the rest of the home. A hallway pantry got matching style cabinets. The knee wall was removed so that the beautiful granite is more visible and allows for even more storage on that side. The kitchen now flows into the dining space.
