Mission Cozy

Full Home Remodel | Mission District, San Francisco

This project involved a full reconstruction of a rear cottage on a San Francisco property in the Mission District, rebuilding the structure from the foundation to the roof.

The project also included a complex permitting process to legalize the structure as a second unit.

The exterior maintains the scale and character of the original cottage, with refined updates that give it a more contemporary feel.

Inside, a restrained palette of concrete and pine flooring, white cabinetry, and carefully placed dark accents creates a space that feels both open and grounded, despite the small footprint.

We also restored an original window, bringing back a historic detail that adds character to the bedroom.

The result is a compact home that feels efficient and inviting, with a balance of original character and modern updates.
