The design-savvy owners of this modest ‘Salt-Box’ cottage commissioned us to create an addition to their home that emphasizes the counterpoint of new vs. old with the juxtaposition a modern form to the existing cottage. The result is a functional amalgam of the two with the older conservative spaces connecting to and opening up in volume and light within the new addition. It utilizes hydronic and passive solar energy components, and geothermal heating and cooling.
