Modern Farmhouse
Modern Farmhouse is not actually a farmhouse. It is the redesign and renovation of a turn of the century low-rise condo in Forest Hill with many historical features.
Our client opted for the farmhouse style for its casual and relaxed ambiance. We created connections to the exciting building features such as double hung windows, ornate trim and so on.
Cabinets were stacked to emphasize the tall ceiling height and formal symmetry was used for its elegance. Cabinets are in pewter with a modified shaker style and island is in a custom Benjamin Moore blue lacquer. Floors selected were Kentwood Wide Brushed Natural Oak. To counterbalance the warm finishes, a white quartz counter and white scalloped backsplash was used.
In the powder room we utilized a dark muted green wall colour and applied pattern to the floors utilizing a black and white porcelain tile. To bring in a warm element, a walnut vanity was used along with gold accented mirror and sconces.
