Modern Master Bath on Spyglass

The previous layout of this master bath had everything lined up against the angled walls.… which left a lot of open floor space. The owners knew they wanted a modern update that took advantage of all that room, but needed help pulling it all together. A couple of their requests were: increase the amount of vanity storage, incorporate a large walk in shower, and make the space more friendly for aging in place. By getting rid of the tub and bringing one of the vanities in the center of the room, there was enough space to have a large walk in shower with two entries. Inside the shower is a set of body sprays, a handheld, and a rain head. To avoid the chill that comes with open space, the bathroom is kept warm through heated flooring and 2 heater/ ventilation combo units above the shower entries. The vanities are custom made cherry wood cabinets with slab doors and drawers. The unique drop-in sinks are from the Kohler Iron Impressions line and the counter top material is Caesarstone Symphony Grey. The staggered 12 x24 floor tile runs into the low threshold shower where there’s a corresponding mosaic from the same line. The shower walls feature 3 x 12 straight stacked subway tiles that run horizontally, and the vanity backsplashes show off a linear glass mosaic tile running vertically to the ceiling. Through dimmable can lights, under cabinet lights, and pendants that frame the vanity mirrors, there are three layers of lighting that offer appropriate intensity for any time of the day.
