Pine Bend Master Bath

This 195 square foot master bath in Wildwood once held thermofoil cabinets, creamy cultured marble, polished brass fixtures, and a large alcove tub with an over-sized and hard to clean plant ledge. As requested by the clients, the space was updated by tearing out all existing materials and starting from scratch. They wanted the space to be light and airy, functional and beautiful. They wanted a relaxing space to be proud of. This was accomplished by keeping everything neutral in varying shades of white and light gray, balanced out with pops of black and stained wood. As for the layout of the space, the double vanity was straightened and made taller with custom cabinets, which are topped with Silestone Lyra tops and black 8” widespread faucets from the Kohler Tempered line. The shower was enlarged (thanks to additional space in the master closet) and converted to a walk in with two sets of Kohler shower systems, two soap caddies, and a corner ledge for foot propping. 12x24 porcelain tile that mimics marble is staggered on the bathroom floor and flows into the shower with corresponding mesh mount mosaic. White wavy 3x12 tile and picture framed arabesques line the shower walls to the ceiling. As you walk in, the focal point of the room is a white Hydro Systems freestanding tub that sits surrounded by board and batten paneling under the window; and the dead space that was once a plant ledge is now functional glass shelving where the client keeps decorative items to look at while in the tub. Lastly, the jewelry of the space is the orbital crystal chandelier with mixed finishes over the tub.
