Modern Wellness-Centric Kitchen Remodel
Situated in the beautiful Old Mill neighborhood of Pasadena, this two-story home, built in 1977, endured a previous poor kitchen renovation. It was transformed from a cramped and dark environment to a light-filled, wellness-centric space for empty nesters.
Dated dropped soffits, an intrusive kitchen peninsula, and a full-height wall separating the dining area from the kitchen were removed to open up the space and create a welcoming environment for cooking and entertaining.
Wellness features such as a Thermador steam oven to cook healthy food, a Sub-Zero refrigerator with an advanced produce preservation system, a Body-Glove filtered water system, increased natural daylight, an improved HVAC system, and a large kitchen island were added to meet the needs of our health-conscious clients.
Custom-stained white oak cabinets with ribbed wood detail referencing bamboo were fabricated to bring in a natural element. The ribbed detail was also repeated on the new Kohler single-bowl kitchen sink and the quality black cabinet hardware by Belwith Keeler.
With the addition of a ten-foot wide island with a new integrated Thermador induction cooktop, our clients now have the perfect gathering spot to cook and entertain family in their new light and bright space.
Project designed by Pasadena interior design studio Soul Interiors Design. They serve Pasadena, San Marino, La Cañada Flintridge, Sierra Madre, Altadena, and surrounding areas.
