This multi-generational family was in need of a more functional floor plan for their charming 1930s home. Special care was taken to restore period details, preserving the unique character of the house while achieving the owners’ objectives.

The kitchen had been comprised of three small rooms; these were combined to create a large U-shaped kitchen with a breakfast nook. The oversized master bedroom was remodeled to include a master bathroom, walk-in closet and desk. The upper level was connected with a new family room below, replacing the steep stairs with a safer alternative. A large, comfortable suite was added on the ground floor, for the grandparents.
